A group portrait of 'A' Company, Queensland Mounted Infantry, bound for South Africa, 1899. Consists of five rows standing and one sittiing on the ground in front. The soldiers are wearing full Queensland Mounted Infantry uniform. This was the first contingent dispatched by Queensland to the South African war. Possibly taken at Lytton camp ground?
