In association with 2/14 Light Horse Regiment (Queensland Mounted Infantry) Museum, the Troop is the custodian of the heritage of the 2nd., 5th., 11th. and 14th. Light Horse Regiments' horse era traditions.

The 5th. & 11th. LHRs have been disbanded and the 2nd. & 14th. LHRs have been combined into one Regiment.

 

Queensland Mounted Infantry Historical Troop Inc is a "re-actment organisation" which provides historical expertise for displays, lectures and school visits. The Troop also works closely with the 2nd/14th Light Horse Regiment (QMI) Museum, Enoggera, often staging displays together,  sharing expertise and knowledge.
